July 11, 2007 Seminar - "Crucial Conversations"

Tools for Talking When Stakes are High

Over 50 leaders joined instructor Jim Bauer for a comprehensive look at the key principles for communicating effectively when emotions are high, stakes are critical and participants strongly disagree. Participants enjoyed observing techniques such as “Learning to Look,” “Focusing on What Your Really Want,” “Start with Heart,” and “Make It Safe,” practiced applying the skills to a personal or work situation, and then developed an individual action plan for future crucial conversations.

“Encouraged and instructed participants to use “real life” personal situations to enhance the application of principles, and therefore transfer of knowledge/skill from the training environment to the participant’s work/personal environments.” Kathleen Donnelly, Downey Savings

Rave Reviews

“What impacted me most was thinking about what the other person wants or how they would like to be treated – improves communication and results. The interactive activities were great and the instructor is very knowledgeable. What I learned can be used in other aspects of life besides business – neighbors – day-to-day interactions.” Linda Slupsky, The Epoch Times

“What I liked the most was the symposium style open discussion – very effective. Sangeeta is a thought leader – this makes Leadership NOW unique because it has presentations by thought leaders – a true educational experience.” Chris Allen, Organizational Development Consultant

“Great talk! I really enjoyed Dr. Gupta’s insights and specifically appreciated the application to business settings. This seminar exceeded my expectations and I would recommend the seminar series to others.” Mike Moodian, Chapman University College

“I was most impacted by the realization that we need to be more conscious of other cultures in order to succeed in global relationships. The instructor’s personal insight and down-to-earth style makes the seminar more valuable and interesting. I would appreciate learning more about how we can become culturally aware as well as tools for working virtually.” Diana Leatherman, Washington Mutual
