    Chapman Celebrates

» Chapman Celebrates

This year, as the event marks its 35th anniversary, American Celebration emerges under a new name, Chapman Celebrates. You will still be dazzled by a song-and-dance spectacular presented by talented and passionate students from the College of Performing Arts, but this time, the magic will happen at the brand-new Marybelle and Sebastian P. Musco Center for the Arts.

This not-to-be missed extravaganza is produced by Chapman University with vital support from Orange County's most committed philanthropists and volunteers. In total, Chapman Celebrates has raised more than $30 million to provide scholarships to Chapman’s best and most deserving students.

Be sure to join us this year for an extraordinary event!

+ - Student Scholarship Recipients

Lana Barendse '15

I cannot put into words how truly grateful I am to have been offered such generous scholarship opportunities at Chapman University. I would not be attending the prestigious private school of my dreams without charitable gifts from thoughtful donors and friends of Chapman. Scholarships have allowed me to fully invest myself in pursuit of my dream of achieving a four-year degree, and I could not be more thankful for that opportunity. I have witnessed amazing selflessness in the form of scholarships that will assist me with my future plans, and I hope one day to reciprocate by giving back to the university that has shaped me as a student, leader and citizen.

From the moment I started looking at colleges, Chapman University rested at the top of my list, but I felt daunted by the price tag of Chapman’s amazing education. Thanks to generous merit and talent scholarships from Chapman, I am now one year in to my journey to a Chapman degree. Scholarships from Chapman have allowed me to make the most of my time here, as I do not have to worry about putting an unfair financial burden on my family. I am eternally grateful to those who give to Chapman scholarship funds because they have changed my life and inspired me to advocate for this university. In addition to gathering support for the Chapman Fund, I have been chosen as a Chapman Ambassador to represent this institution. Through my work as a student, actor and advocate, I hope to exponentially return the investment Chapman University has made in me.

Holeka Inaba '16, Communication Studies

I am a sophomore from Kona, Hawai’i, and coming to Chapman University has helped me to experience life outside the slow, peaceful existence of the Hawaiian Islands. Receiving scholarship funds from Chapman University has really helped me to gain opportunities and other life experiences that would have been unavailable to me if I had stayed home. I’ve been raised in the culture and traditions of Hawai’i, and I had the great opportunity to learn my native language as a child. During my high school years, however, I knew that I wanted to leave Hawai’i to gain outside experiences that would help me later in life. My inspiration for leaving was really the Hawaiian people, who have faced many difficulties related to language and loss of culture throughout the last two centuries. I have made it my goal to become as educated and prepared as possible in the Western society so that I may return home upon graduation to help my people live successful, educated and sustainable lives once again. It would have been difficult for me to attend a private mainland university without substantial scholarship money. I am so thankful for all the assistance I’ve received from Chapman University’s scholarship fund and the great people I’ve met.
