The Department of Theatre faculty and staff are dedicated to providing an education infused with strong professional ethics, hard work and respect for collaboration.
At Chapman University’s Department of Theatre, students will work together with an exceptional faculty within a professional theatre curriculum designed to help students find their true voice as artists and empower them to pursue career paths appropriate to their abilities.
We offer three programs tailored to the specific goals of each student. First, our broad-based BA degree in theatre offers areas of study in theatre technology or theatre studies. Second, the pre-professional BFA degree in theatre performance, and third, the interdisciplinary BFA in screen acting offered cooperatively with the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. All of the degrees provide students with excellent preparation to attend graduate school or enter the profession directly from college. The Department of Theatre is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, which holds us to the highest standards of theatre training.
I am sure you will find Chapman University, located in beautiful and sunny southern California, a vibrant, challenging, exciting and fun place to explore and grow as an artist as you develop your craft.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the department or our programs, and we will be happy to discuss how we might help you have the career you wish and to become the artist you strive to be.
