Internet Connection for Education

We have found that many popular Internet Service Providers will override the proxy configuration settings of your browser.  This can prevent you from accessing the information resources provided by the Chapman Libraries.

To overcome this problem we have made arrangements with AT&T to provide Internet Access to our students at a discounted rate.  We have never experienced any problems accessing our Library Information Resources when using this AT&T service which is called Internet Connection for Education or ICE.

You can use ICE as your primary Internet Connection Service or just as a supplement to your regular ISP to be used when you need to access Library Resources.  Several different pricing options are available ranging from $5.95 per month for 5 hours per month to $17.95 per month for 150 hours per month.

Since ICE provides local access numbers throughout the United States and in more than 50 countries aournd the world, you may want to setup an ICE account to use just when you are  traveling.

To sign up for an ICE account:

  1. Download the dialer - or call AT&T at 800-821-4612 prompt 6, and request a Set-up Kit to be mailed to you. (Note: 1 800 821-4612 prompt 4 is for technical support.

  2. Set-up and Registration - When you run the setup program for the dialer you will be prompted to type an offer code.  Your offer code is "CHPUCAMP".
You will also be asked for your Chapman student ID (or faculty ID), your sponsor code, which is "CHPU", and your credit card information.
You will have the chance to back-out at the end should you decide to do so.

  3. You will see a "registration complete" screen which will provide you with an initial password and instructions on how to get started.
