Virtual Private Networking Setup for Windows XP
| 1. Click on the "start" menu, "Control Panel", and then go to "Internet Options |

| 2. Select the 4th tab over called "Connections". |
 |
| 3. Select the button located in the upper right corner of the window called "Setup..." |
 |
| 4. When the Network Configuration, Wizard/Internet Connection Wizard has started, Select "Next". |
 |
5. Select Network Connection Type to: "Connect to the network at my workplace".
Then click "Next". |
 |
6. Select "Virtual Private Network connection".
Then Click "Next". |
 |
7. Type Chapman VPN Connection in the text box for Company Name.
Then click "Next". |
 |
8. If you use a dialup modem (PPPoE) account you will see this screen, select the connection to be dialed first.
Then Click "Next". |
 |
9. Type in the host name as "vpn.chapman.edu".
Then click "Next". |
 |
10. Select "My use only".
Then Click "Next". |
 |
11. Click the check box "Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop".
Then Click "Finish".
12. Double click on the "ChapNet VPN Connection" shortcut on your desktop.
13. Enter your user name (your email name minus the @chapman.edu, i.e. if your Chapman email was stauffacher@chapman.edu, you would enter stauffacher as your user name.)
14. Enter the login domain as CHAPMANEDU |

In order to connect to websites outside of the Chapman website, please follow the steps below:
1. Open a web browser in Internet Explorer
2. Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options". |
 |
3. Click on the "Connections" tab
4. Click once on "ChapNet VPN Connection" in order to highlight it.
5. Click on the "Settings" button to the right. |
 |
| 6. Click on the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. You should now be able to browse outside of the Chapman website. |
