
What kind of computers are used at Chapman University?
Chapman has standardized on Dell computers. We are currently purchasing Dell Optiplex 760 desktop computers, Dell Latitude D630 notebook computers and Dell Latitude E6500 notebook computers.
Almost all of Chapman's faculty and staff use Dell computers, but some faculty and staff in the School of Music, the Art Department and the Publications Office use Apple Macintosh computers.
What kind of computers do you recommend to students?
We recommend the Dell Latitude D630 notebook computer for most students and recommend the Dell Latitude E6500 notebook for students in the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
Also, Chapman has set up with Dell and Apple for students, faculty, and staff to be able to purchase computers at reduced price.
Where can students purchase software at reduced prices?

What kind of computer network do you have at Chapman University?
We have an Ethernet network with gigabit fiber links between buildings and 100MB switched connections to each desktop.
We also have an 802.11b/g wireless network (Wi-Fi) that provides connectivity from all classrooms and most public areas on the Orange Campus, including the library and the dining areas.
What kind of Internet connection do you have at Chapman University?
We have a total of 30Mbps of bandwidth to the Internet using three different service providers for redundancy. We are in the process of increasing our bandwidth to the Internet to over 100Mbps.
