Partner Church Program

As part of the DOC Student Covenant and the partnership of Chapman with the Disciples of Christ and the United Church of Christ, the Partner Church Program gives Disciples on Campus students the opportunity to get to know a new church family and to nurture relationships with that church. The program matches each DOC student with at least one church in Arizona, California, or Nevada who has donated to the DOC Scholarship Fund. In exchange for their scholarships, students are required to keep in touch with their Partner Churches through letters and at least one visit during the year. For those students whose churches are located outside the Southern California area, several weekend trips are arranged for groups of students to travel to their churches. Students often discover that communication with their Partner Church can be a mutually enriching and positive experience, and frequently Partner Churches send care packages, extra scholarships (outside of the Disciples Day scholarship), and personal encouragement.
