Chapman University strongly encourages the development of proposals to obtain external funding in order to support the scholarship of the Chapman University community and to expand the financial resource base for important research.

The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is the central administrative office responsible for submitting proposals and coordinating the acceptance of awards on behalf of the University. We provide the following services, as required:

• Assist in the search for research funds
  
  
• Coordinate with the Chancellor and the Financial Services Department on all matters concerning proposals and grants
  
  
• Coordinate with School Deans and Department Chairs on grant issues
  
  
• Manage formal submission of proposals
  
  
• Assist applicants in the development of proposed budgets
  
  
• Coordinate the receipt and distribution of award documents for approval
  
  
• Assists in compliance with government, sponsor and University policies
  
  
• Manage the contracting process
  
  
• Maintain records of proposals, grants, contracts, and OSR forms
  
  
• Handle initial intellectual property inquiries
