Cahill is entering her 20th season as Chapman's head coach and is just eight victories shy of 300 for her career. The Panthers have experienced a great deal of success in recent years, having reached the NCAA tournament in 2004 and 2005 and posted its best overall record in 12 years (17-10) in 2006. Mary is both the winningest and longest-tenured coach in Chapman volleyball history, finishing .500 or better in 15 of her 19 seasons. The Panthers have made seven NCAA tournament appearances. Cahill is also in her second year serving as Senior Women's Administrator at Chapman. She has had 23 Division III All-West Region athletes play for her in the past 10 years and four Academic All-District VIII selections. Despite many great years at Chapman, she has reached an unprecedented level of success in the past eight years, producing consistently winning teams. Her seven winning seasons in the last eight years had not been accomplished at Chapman since the school moved to Division III in 1994. In fact, the Panthers have won 16 or more matches now in four consecutive seasons. A native of Orange, Mary attended Orange High School and played two seasons at Chapman, where she was named Academic All-America in 1985. She has a bachelor’s degree in Movement/Exercise Science from Chapman, and a master’s in education from Azusa Pacific. Women's Volleyball Assistant CoachJohn Cahill |
