In 2007, Janet became the second coach in Chapman history to eclipse the 400-victory plateau and ranks second behind her father Lisle in coaching wins. She also led a youthful Panther team to its fifth consecutive NCAA playoff berth in 2007. Since becoming co-head coach in 1995, then assuming sole responsibility in 1999, the Panthers have developed and maintained a reputation as one of the top Division III programs in the nation. Chapman has missed the playoffs just twice in the past 13 years, earning seven regional championships (including back-to-back titles in '04 and '05), along with a national championship in 1995. Her career winning percentage of .748 ranks among the top-10 active and all-time NCAA Division III coaches and in 2005, she earned West Region Coach of the Year honors for the second time in her career. The accomplishments of Janet's players are staggering: 69 All-Region selections, 23 All-Americans, 23 Academic All-District selections and three Academic All-Americans.

Janet came to Chapman as a player in 1983, transferring from Cal State Fullerton, then joined the coaching staff full-time in 1985 as an assistant to her father, Lisle Lloyd. She earned All-America honors at Fullerton, leading the nation in home runs two straight seasons and leading the Titans to a third-place finish in the College World Series. She is still Cal State Fullerton's all-time home run leader. During her playing days at Chapman, she was also named to the All-America team.
