ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University women’s water polo player Jennifer Manship set a new school record with her three-goal performance against Colorado State on Wednesday night at the Orange High School pool. The junior now holds Chapman’s career scoring mark with 201 goals, eclipsing Kristina Eich’s record of 198 set in 2006. Manship scored the record-breaker with 4:04 remaining in the first quarter of the Panthers 18-6 loss to Colorado State. She went on to score twice more to become the first Panther in school history to reach 200 career goals. The junior, who also holds Chapman’s single-season record with 103 goals last season, currently ranks sixth in the nation (Divisions I, II, III and NAIA) in scoring with 62 goals in 18 games this season. Chapman (8-10) dropped its second straight game after winning four in a row last week. The Panthers will host Caltech on Friday at 6 p.m. at Orange High School.
