CHAPMAN WOMEN ELIMINATED FROM TENNIS PLAYOFFS
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women’s tennis team fell to U.C. Santa Cruz in the first round of the NCAA West Region playoffs, losing 5-0 at Pomona-Pitzer College on Friday. The Banana Slugs clinched the victory after sweeping the doubles matches and earning a pair of singles victories from their No. 1 and No. 6 seeds, halting the play of the other four singles matches.
The loss snapped the Panthers two-match winning streak. Chapman ends the season 4-9 overall. It was the second time in seven years Chapman has reached the NCAA postseason.
