ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women’s tennis team won five out of six matches in singles play to clinch a 6-3 victory over visiting Colorado College at the Chapman Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon. The Panthers improved to 9-5 overall with the win. Freshman No. 1 singles player Liz Lewis earned her 12th victory in 14 singles matches this spring with a 6-1, 6-0 straight sets victory over Colorado’s Kelsey Smith. Freshman Kelley Fox needed a tiebreak victory in the third set to earn the win in the No. 2 singles match 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. Fox improved to 12-6 this year and has won five of her last six matches in singles play. Doubles partners Roxanne Kaiden and Laura Robinson earned Chapman’s only point in doubles play with an 8-2 win, as the Panthers lost two out of three to the Tigers. Kaiden’s singles win 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 was the deciding match for Chapman, which has won two of its last three matches at home. Doubles: Singles: |
