ORANGE, Calif. – Three members of the Chapman University women’s soccer team earned honorable mention by the Association of Division III Independents. Sophomore F Claire Callister and junior midfielders Hannah Rogers and Mia Pierro were each named to the All-Independent team for the first time in their careers. For the second year in a row Callister tied for the team lead with seven goals and three assists in 2007. She also led the team with 17 total points this season and scored three game-winning goals. Rogers ranked sixth on the Panthers with five points this season. She was one of Chapman’s top-playmakers with a team-high three assists. Pierro led the team with 1488 minutes played and ranked fourth on the team with seven points. She scored three goals, including one game-winner, and recorded one assist. The Association of Division III Independents consists of 21 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition in nine sports in 2007-08. The Association recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
