ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women’s water polo ranked No. 5 in the nation in team grade-point average in a poll released by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches on Wednesday. The poll includes Division I, II and III schools from across the nation for the 2005-06 school year. Ten Chapman players also earned individual honors from the Association. Chapman earned top-10 honors for the seventh consecutive year and its 3.33 mark placed the Panthers ahead of Princeton (16th), U.C. San Diego (19th) and USC (26th). Individual honors were given to those earning outstanding (3.71 to 4.0), superior (3.41 to 3.7) and excellent (3.2 to 3.4) merit. The Panthers earning such honors were: Leyna Belcher and Kristina Eich (outstanding), Teri Bartel, Haley Slusser, Kira Weidner and Katie McGraw (superior) and Kristin Carter, Taylor Smith, Natalie Iwasaki and Jennifer Manship (excellent).
