ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women’s basketball team will attempt to tie the school’s Division III winning streak record when it travels to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to play the Sagehens on Tuesday night. The Panthers will put their 11-game winning streak on the line when they tip-off at 7 p.m. Chapman (17-5) extended its streak on Saturday evening with a 68-61 win over visiting Biola University, after coming back from an 18-point deficit with two minutes remaining in the first half. The Panthers closed out the half on an 8-1 run and then scored the first 11 points of the second half to take the lead. Chapman then took the lead for good on a Nicole Hayman three-pointer with 9:27 to play. Hayman finished with a game-high 33 points and has scored 30 or more in three of the past four games. The Panthers previously recorded 12 consecutive wins during the 2001-02 season. That year, Chapman went 23-5 and advanced to the NCAA tournament “Sweet 16”.
