CHAPMAN WOMEN CONTINUE TO WIN AT HOME

ORANGE, CA – The Chapman University women’s basketball team defeated La Sierra University 98-75 at Hutton Sports Center to post their eighth straight home win on Saturday night. Chapman (11-5) opened up the second half leading La Sierra (2-12) 54-29 and held on to win the game with its highest scoring victory this season.

Posting double-digits in both points and assists, sophomore guard Jessica Kunisaki scored a game-high 21 points and 14 assists for the Panthers. Kunisaki shot 4-for-5 at the free throw line and added two steals and three rebounds to the Chapman victory. Fellow sophomores Melissa Nakamura and Blaire Camarda added 18 and 15 points respectively to the Chapman cause.

La Sierra was led by Becky Breyer, who earned a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds.

Chapman has won four of its last five games and will play its next two games at home before finishing the season on the road. The Panthers will tip off against U.C. Santa Cruz Saturday, January 21 at 5 p.m. and then play their final home game on Tuesday, January 31 versus Hope International.
