CHAPMAN ATHLETES GARNER WEEKLY HONORS

ORANGE, Calif. –  Chapman University volleyball player Jill Felger has been named Division III Independents Player of the Week and Panthers’ wide receiver Harrison Dull was named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week for their achievements last week.

Felger, a junior middle blocker, set a school record with 29 kills in a five-game victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday night. An All-Region selection as a freshman, Felger totaled 65 kills in three matches – all victories – for the Panthers last week and currently leads the team with 270 kills and a .371 hitting percentage. She also ranks No. 25 in Division III in hitting percentage. Chapman is 11-7 and riding a five-match winning streak.

Meanwhile, Dull was the centerpiece of a second-half rally that saw the Panthers turn a 20-10 deficit into a 38-20 victory against Whittier on the gridiron Saturday night. The junior caught his first three touchdown passes of the season, in a span of less than seven minutes, to give Chapman the lead in the fourth quarter. Dull finished the night with 10 catches for 216 yards which thrust him to No. 11 in the nation in receiving yards per game, averaging 111.2. It was Chapman’s second victory in a row, improving its overall record to 3-2.
