ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women’s volleyball team won its third consecutive home match by way of a three-game sweep, defeating visiting La Sierra University, 30-18, 30-14, 30-10 at Hutton Center on Thursday night. The win improved the Panthers’ home record to 3-0 this season. They haven’t lost a single game on their home court this year. Chapman (4-4) was led by junior MB Jill Felger who recorded a season-high 20 kills (with no errors) and a .625 hitting percentage. Senior OH Nikkie Powers added 14 kills for the Panthers, who snapped a brief two-match skid. It was a record-tying night for sophomore OH Erin DeRycke who served up seven aces for Chapman. She shares that single-match record with four others in Panthers history. Freshman setter Kat Kowalski tallied 41 assists in the win. Hallie Burishkin earned seven kills for La Sierra (2-8) in defeat. Game stats available online: |
