ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men’s tennis team suffered a tough loss on Thursday evening, losing 5-4 to Whitworth College (Wash.) at the Chapman Tennis Courts. The home court loss came after the Panthers led 4-1, however Whitworth rallied to win the final four singles matches in a meet that lasted into the late hours of the evening The Panthers jumpstarted the match with the No. 1 and No. 3 seeded doubles pairs achieving wins. Teammates Clifford Yook and Leland Buttle had an impressive 8-1 victory – their fourth in a row – over the Pirates No. 1 seeded pair, Ed Anegon and Brian Elliot. Yook and Buttle also captured the Panthers’ only two singles wins, each in straight sets. Yook ran his winning streak to 10 in a row in singles play. Buttle improved to 8-6 this season. The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for Chapman, which fell to 5-7 overall. Doubles: Singles:
