MEN’S TENNIS WINS A PAIR, CLIMBS BACK OVER .500

ANAHEIM, Calif. – It was a glorious day for the Chapman University men’s tennis team which posted two victories Sunday afternoon at Anaheim Tennis Club, improving its record 6-5. The Panthers opened the day defeating No. 22 Hardin-Simmons (Texas) 5-2 and their momentum continued as they shutout the visiting University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh 7-0.

In a battle of nationally-ranked teams, the Panthers edged Hardin-Simmons squad with strong performances from Robert Chu, Hunter Jack, Morgan Surfas and Ian Flores in singles play. Things got even better in their second match against Oshkosh, where they posted a 7-0 shutout. Chapman overpowered the visitors as Chu, Jack and Surfas all won for the second time on Sunday. Chu and Jack remained hot in doubles play as well, improving to 7-2 in doubles play.
