FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Chapman University men’s tennis team has had no problems playing its home matches at Anaheim Tennis Center this season. So far, the No. 26-ranked Panthers are 3-1 in their first four matches, including their last three in a row – all at home – as they prepare to take on Claremont on the road this Saturday. Chapman, of course, has been led by All-American Robert Chu. The No. 2 singles player in the West Region is currently 3-1, with his only loss coming against Concordia. Junior Hunter Jack appears quite comfortable playing as the Panthers’ No. 2 seed, posting a 3-0 record from that spot in the lineup and a perfect 4-0 overall. Jack and Chu are also undefeated (4-0) in doubles play this season. Junior Morgan Surfas (2-1) and freshman Tyler Martin (2-0) are two more singles players with winning records, while playing in at least half of Chapman’s matches. Surfas and freshman Clifford Yook are also undefeated (3-0) in doubles play. The Panthers’ victories include a 6-1 upset win over Division II Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday. After traveling to Claremont on Saturday, Chapman plays seven of its next eight matches at home.
