FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHAPMAN’S JOSH FLYNN-BROWN: HOOPS STAR, POLITICAL PUNDIT, AUTHOR

ORANGE, Calif. – For Chapman University men’s basketball star Josh Flynn-Brown, 2007 has already been a banner year. First the senior guard was recognized last month as the Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball Player of the Year. Next up, he’s set to graduate from Chapman in May with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Currently, he’s promoting his first book as a political observer.

Last week, Flynn-Brown released his political commentary In Defense Of The President: One Student’s Journey to Simplify Conservative Truth, by AuthorHouse Publishing (Bloomington, Ind.). It is now available in paperback for public purchase.

It is a passionate and (with no apologies) audacious look at the Bush administration and post-9/11 U.S. policies both domestically and internationally.

Excerpt from the book’s introduction:

I started this book when I was 21 years old and a junior in college. I am now a 22 year old senior and this project has been thrown out numerous times and restarted. The sheer difficulty in writing a book is something I never comprehended but this book was a labor of love. At one point the project was 80 percent done, or so I thought, and then I scrapped it. I couldn’t quite determine how I wanted to present evidence and write a book in a way that would handle my frustrations with the anti-Bush crowd.
Inevitably, it led me to In Defense of the President a project which I felt could correctly defend policies made by the Bush administration that many in America, and the world, felt were wrong or just plain stupid. It’s short, sweet and to the point. As you will see the chapters are not very long, however they convey the reality of real world political situations.
Each chapter should be considered a piece of a puzzle and when you finish reading hopefully a full picture will be seen with no missing pieces. I didn’t want to write a book that had a lot of useless information, so this book spits out a lot of facts that are useful in showing the truth of the matter. I consider this book a personal mission not a wishy-washy take both sides approach. The great General George S. Patton summed it up quite well when he said, “Audacity, audacity, always audacity.” In that effect, liberal Democrats need to beware, as do Jacque Chirac and the French.
Conservatives that read this book will smile and nod but the liberals (if they ever look at it) will cringe and throw it to the ground. That’s fine.
At least I know in my heart and soul what I have written is the truth.

The senior is a pretty good basketball player, too. A native of Redondo Beach, this season Flynn-Brown became the first Chapman player in 16 years to average over 20 points per game. He led the Panthers with 20.5 points per game and made 80 three-pointers and helped Chapman to its best overall record since 1983-84 and a second straight West Region Independents Tournament titles.

He ranked in the top-35 in Division III in scoring, three-pointers and three-point percentage and set a Chapman (Division III) record for points in a single season (533). He also finished his four-year career in February as one of just 13 players in school history with over 1,000 career points.

Flynn-Brown’s personal website is now up and running at http://www.presidentdefense.com/. There you can find out more about the author, order the book and contact the author directly.

In Defense Of The President is also currently available for purchase online at AuthorHouse.com: http://www.authorhouse.com/BookStore/ItemDetail~bookid~42220.aspx. The book is also available online at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com and will be available in retail outlets later this month.
