ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men’s basketball team made it 10 consecutive victories with an 81-63 defeat of visiting West Coast Baptist College on Tuesday night at Hutton Center. On ‘Senior Night’, it was fitting that seniors Patrick Carney and Josh Flynn-Brown reached milestones while leading the Panthers’ charge. Carney moved into fourth place on Chapman’s all-time scoring list with a three-pointer in the first half. Carney finished with 14 points and currently has 1,565 career points. He needs only 11 more points to move into third on the list and surpass Chapman Hall of Famer Jeff Cotwright (1,575). Flynn-Brown scored a game-high 18 points, including 14 in the second half, to set Chapman’s single-season (Division III) scoring record with 462 points and counting. The previous record (448) was set by Carney last season. The senior is still on pace to become the first Panther in the school’s Division III history to average over 20 points per game, currently averaging 20.1. Senior C Rob Selway also tied a career-high with 16 rebounds and scored six points for the Panthers. Chapman finished the season with an 8-2 record at home and will close out the regular season with three games on the road.
