ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men’s basketball team defeated visiting West Coast Baptist College by 45 points – its largest margin of victory this season – on Tuesday night at Hutton Center, 80-35. The Panthers held their opponents to a season-low 35 points and just 12-for-45 (26.7 percent) from the field. Four Panthers reached double-digits in scoring, including junior guard Josh Flynn-Brown who scored a game-high 13 points. Flynn-Brown has scored 10 or more points in 10 of his last 11 games and has raised his scoring average to 11.9. Chapman (17-7) made over 47 percent of its three-pointers in the game (8-of-17), led by freshman guard Sean Vreeburg who tied a career-high with 12 points, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. West Coast Baptist was led by Jeremy Mendoza who scored seven points, six rebounds and four assists. Chapman improved its winning streak to five games and has now won nine of its past 10 games. The Panthers will play their final home game of the regular season on Saturday when they host La Sierra University at 7 p.m. Chapman will honor five seniors prior to tip-off.
