FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ORANGE, Calif. – Ironically, there are no 'K's and just one 'O' in the name Billy Sulentor, because that's all the senior lefty's been throwing at opponents over the past week and a half. Sulentor was at it again on Tuesday night, but wasn't around for the decision as the Chapman University baseball team defeated visiting Rockford College (Ill.) 1-0 in 11 innings at Hart Park. Senior outfielder Brian Brubaker drove home the game's only run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th to give the Panthers the win. Sulentor was the big story just one week after striking out 15 Menlo batters in a complete game shutout. He pitched nine more shutout innings on Tuesday night, striking out 10 batters and surrendering just two base hits.. However, Rockford’s own Keith Miller matched Sulentor inning for inning and pitched into the 11th inning, allowing just three hits and striking out seven Panthers. Miller’s undoing though came when he walked sophomore infielder Tyler Norman to leadoff the 11th. A single and a sacrifice fly later and the game was over. Junior right-hander Devin Drag pitched two innings in relief to pick up his second win of the season. The shutout is Chapman’s third as a pitching staff already this season.
