FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ORANGE, Calif. – Former Chapman University student-athletes Patrick Josten (football) and Jason Mooneyham (baseball) are now making names for themselves outside of the Chapman community and within the ranks of professional sports. Josten, who holds 12 school passing records, including career passing yards (5,283) and touchdowns (40), signed a free agent contract on Monday with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. Josten is one of four quarterbacks on Tiger-Cats roster and is the youngest of the quartet. Hamilton begins the 2006 season on June 17 in Toronto. The Ticats can be found on the web at: http://www.ticats.ca/ The Los Angeles Dodgers’ 40th round draft pick in 2005, Mooneyham has overcome the odds thus far in his pro career. After a standout rookie season at Ogden (Rookie) last year, the lefty impressed team officials enough in spring training to earn a roster spot on the club’s A-ball team in Vero Beach. As the Dodgers’ starting first baseman, Mooneyham is batting .417 (5-for-12) with a double in four games.
