Chapman's all-time winningest coach, Carrillo won his 100th career game in 2007. A Chapman alumnus, who played for the Panthers from 1984-85, he led Chapman to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in his first three years as head coach from 1997-99. His teams have finished .500 or better in six of his 12 seasons, and he has coached five All-Region selections and seven Academic All-District selections. The Panthers finished the 2007 season strong, going 3-3-1 in October and November. That followed a 2006 season that saw the Panthers contending for NCAA West Region playoff consideration. At 10-7-1, the Panthers had one of the top scoring offenses in the nation, ranking in the top-30 in Division III in goals per game. Carrillo previously had a distinguished career as a high school coach. He established a powerhouse program at Orange High, winning three league championships and being named Orange County Coach of the Year. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Chapman and a master’s in education from Claremont McKenna College. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Placentia with their four children, daughters Breanna, McKenna and Jadenn, and son Masonn.
