The Chapman men's and women's crew program garnered regional respect with three medal-winning performances at the May 2006 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association championships in Sacramento, Calif.
In just its 10th year of existence Chapman crew placed three boats third, including two women's novice boats. They were the first championship race medals earned in school history and built a foundation for future success from the Panthers' crew. None of the rowers on the medal-earning boats had rowed competitively prior to joining Chapman crew.
