When Cipolla hit a grand slam in the fifth inning of a 7-0 win over Louisiana College on Saturday in the NCAA Division III West Region playoffs, it was the biggest home run of her Chapman career. It only lasted a day. On Sunday, against the same Louisiana team, Cipolla hit an even bigger home run, a game-winning two-run shot in the top of the eighth inning to give the Panthers their second straight regional championship and send them back to the World Series this weekend in Raleigh, N.C. Cipolla finished the weekend batting .545 (6-for-11) with nine RBI in three games and was named to the All-Tournament team.
