On a pitching staff full of aces, Buddy has come into his own ever since earning Chapman’s lone playoff win in 2004 – an eight-inning, seven-strikeout mastery of La Verne. This season, the right-hander has won four consecutive decisions for the Panthers, including a 5-1 victory over Redlands on Sunday in the Cal Classic, increasing the Panthers’ winning streak to seven games and clinching the team’s tournament championship. Buddy posted a season-high 10 strikeouts in a win against Kean (N.J.) five days earlier and has 30 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings this season. Buddy ranks third on the team with a 1.44 ERA and has won six consecutive decisions dating back to last April
