AMELIA PEREZ Women's Basketball
Perez has come off the bench to help the Chapman women win three of their first four games. The senior forward was one rebound shy of a double-double in the Panthers’ 87-57 win over Southwestern (Ariz.) on Saturday and has scored 16 points or more three times. She is currently leading the team in rebounding with 5.8 boards per game and is second in scoring, averaging 13.0 points. Perez was also named to the All-Redlands Tournament team the previous weekend, after scoring a team-high 17 points against nationally-ranked Howard Payne (Texas). Thanks to the Panthers’ sixth man the team has won three in a row and 20 of its last 22 games, including 17 in a row at home.
