DOMINICK GAITAN Football
The junior linebacker has proved to be an anchor for one of the best defenses in the nation. Gaitan had five total tackles in Chapman’s 28-14 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, including three tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a quarterback sack. His performance helped the Panthers win their fourth consecutive game and clinch their first winning season since 1999 as the Chapman defense held the Sagehens scoreless through three quarters and two red-zone possessions. Gaitan leads the team in tackles for loss (eight for 26 yards) and QB sacks (three) and is fifth on the team in total tackles (36). He also has two interceptions for Chapman, which is 5-2 overall.
