The sophomore has been one of Chapman's top playmakers in the team's first 15 games and is a big reason why the Panthers are ranked No. 8 in Division III. McElvaney leads the team with 73 steals and ranks second with 27 assists. He is 17 steals away from his own school record of 90 in a single season, set last year as a freshman. If he keeps defending like he did last weekend, that record will be shattered in no time. In Chapman's second straight Caltech Classic championship on Saturday, McElvaney tallied 20 steals in three games, added four goals and was named to the All-Tournament team.
