Quite simply, Vass is enjoying success in Division III. An All-Big West selection at Division I U.C. Riverside last season, the senior has been reunited with his Villa Park High School coach, Tom Tereschuk here at Chapman and has been a key ingredient in the Panthers' early season offensive surge. Vass leads the team in home runs (4), slugging (.839) and on-base pct. (.535), and is a perfect 7-for-7 in stolen bases. He's also third on the team in battting with a .387 average and has eight RBI. The No. 4-ranked Panthers are averaging nearly nine runs per game during their 8-1 start.
