Kanda is primed for this weekend's NCAA Division III West Regionals at nearby Prado Park. The sophomore led Chapman this season as the top finisher in all six regular season meets. And at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational on Oct. 20 she finished with her best time of the season, a 21:51 in the 5K. This weekend Kanda, who was named to the Division III All-Independents team as a freshman in 2005, will attempt to crack the top-100 in the West Region and improve on her 27:02 (6K) time from the 2005 West Regionals.
