WAYDE KITCHENS Baseball
It has been described as the single greatest performance by a pitcher in a Chapman uniform - in recent years, anyway. The sophomore RHP threw a five-hit, 11 strikeout shutout against Pacific Lutheran in the West Region championship game on Saturday, sending the Panthers to their third straight World Series. Oh by the way, all of this was done on one day of rest. Kitchens had just thrown seven innings less than 48 hours earlier when he beat UT-Dallas in the second game of the regional tournament. All of this is a cherry on top of a superb season where the righty went 12-1 with a school record 115 strikeouts and was named first team All-West Region.
