Carney scored a career-high 30 points in the Panthers 135-122 win over Redlands on Saturday. In two Chapman wins, Carney averaged 26 points per game, five rebounds per game, three assists per game, and shot 67.9 percent from the field. His performance last week also earned him Player of the Week honors from the Association of Division III Independents. The junior guard has shot 91 percent from the line, including a perfect 8-of-8 for the second time this season in the Redlands victory. Carney currently leads the Panthers with 20.3 points per game and six three pointers in four games. He has helped Chapman to a 4-0 start, the team’s best since the 2000-01 season. |
