Mauras gave a clinic on pass rushing in Chapman’s 23-20 victory over Whittier on Saturday. He entered the game without a quarterback sack this season, but now leads the team in that statistical category, having sacked Poets’ quarterbacks three times in the game for a loss of 33 yards. All three sacks came on Whittier third down plays and led to the Panthers getting the ball back on punts. The senior lineman also ranks second on the team with four quarterback hurries. Josh has made 21 tackles for Chapman, 11 of which were solo and has forced two fumbles for the Panthers this season, also a team-high.
