Sammet sparked the Chapman offense in more way than one this weekend as the Panthers won their second straight West Region championship. The leadoff batter batted .550 (11-for-20) with six runs scored and was named to the All-Tournament team. His solo home run to leadoff the game, ignited the Chapman offense on its way to a 7-1 win over George Fox on Friday night. The sophomore outfielder then threw out two runners out at the plate in the same game. In the two championship games on Saturday, Sammet merely went 6-for-8 with a double and scored the game-winning run in the Panthers' 4-3 win over Texas Lutheran.
