Searing has always been known as a solid defender. The senior second baseman and three-year starter ranks among the school's top-10 in career fielding percentage and has been a leader on the field, in the classroom and on campus. But it's Searing's season-long offensive surge that really has the Panthers poised for a third consecutive regional championship. A career .215 hitter, she enters this weekend's games third on the team in batting (.321) and already having set career bests in home runs (3) and RBI (16). She is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak while the Panthers have won 12 of their last 15 games.
