AS Senate is the primary legislative body of the Associated Students at Chapman University. Made up of 12 elected students, Senate was established to create and approve legislation that affect the general student body. The job of the Senate is to represent student opinion on issues that affect every aspect of student life at Chapman. Senators serve on various committees with faculty, staff, and administrators that preside over issues in academic life, student life, administration, and finances at the University. Last year, AS Senators served on committees that focused on important issues such like parking, academic integrity, restaurant services, the bookstore, and others. Senators also provided several outreach programs to obtain valuable student opinion, which was voiced in the decision to bring a new smoothie company to campus, and also helped to amend the construction plans for the grass area between Beckman Hall and the Leatherby Libraries. As Chapman continues to grow, the need for a strong student representation is ever more important. Associated Students Senate meets every Tuesday from 11:30-1:00 in Argyros Forum 205. Meetings are open to all students and students are encouraged to attend meetings or contact Senators with comments or concerns. Thank you for your interest in Associated Students Senate!
