The Activities Team’s...goal is to provide our students with events that enrich their college experience through events of entertainment, education, and social awareness. Throughout the year, the Activities Team schedules bands, speakers, comedians, and other entertainment to come to Chapman. The team also coordinates on-campus activities such as Phenomenal Women Week and Midnight Breakfast. This team is totally sweet and if you would like to help out, please contact Ryan Corry, Commissioner of Activities, at 714.744.7026. The Commissioner of Activities along with the Director of Activities, the Director of Entertainment, the Director of First Year Programs, and the Director of Commuter Relations head up this branch of Associated Students.
The Communications Team...has the responsibility of providing information about Associated Students. We cooperate with student organizations, the LEAD office, and all of the AS Cabinet members and teams in order to provide a clear and available picture of those events important to Chapman University Students. Additionally, we hope to provide opportunities for the students to share their thoughts, concerns, and opinions in various forms. We hope to convey to you, the students of Chapman University, the privileges you are entitled to as members of the Associated Students. Contact us to get involved, give feedback, or ask questions. Our team members consist of the Director of Public Relations, Director of Electronic Public Relations", and the Director of Current Affairs. The Commissioner of Communications, responsible for coordinating the positions and providing opportunities for campus dialogue, heads the team.
The Department of Finance...is responsible for all of the funds Associated Students receives and expends. As Commissioner of Finance, I work with the President and V.P. of House to create the budgets for Associated Students and the House clubs. I am also the liaison between Associated Students and Financial Services, serving as the main contact and the one who receives monthly statements. The long and the short of it is that I am responsible for all finance and accounting related work for Associated Students. My goal for this year is to motivate the AS House members to constructively spend more of their funds and budget accurately for what they are spending. I am also working to ensure that Associated Students funding is spent on new and creative ways to provide information and enriching experiences to both resident and commuter students. -Chris Tom
The Student Awareness Team...is committed to informing the Chapman community of world events, concerns, and triumphs. Our team of four cabinet members works with and for Chapman students to shine a light on important world and community issues. We serve as an outlet for student voices on campus by providing relevant and diverse programs to the students. Education and involvement lie at the center of our events. The ultimate goal of the Student Awareness Team is to inform, challenge, and unite the student body as a group of actively aware individuals. The Awareness Team is composed of the Commissioner of Awareness, Director of Multicultural Awareness, Director of Community Relations, Director of Health and Fitness, and Director of Environmental Awareness.
