Student Services

The MBA Career Management Center was established in August 2006 in response to the needs of MBA and EMBA candidates for a Center focused specifically on their career management needs. The Center, located in the Argyros School of Business and Economics (ASBE), Beckman Hall 305, has primary objectives to:

  • provide MBA/EMBA candidates with effective  career management tools vital in identifying and pursuing goals to further their career
  • strengthen outreach efforts and networks between the business school and the Orange County business community
  • assist alumni of the MBA/EMBA program with ongoing career transition or career management needs

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the following career management services offered by the MBA Career Management Center:

Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling

While there are common fundamentals to identifying and pursuing a career, each student has a unique story to tell about skills, motivators, and goals. Because no two students are alike, the Center invests quality time with students individually to first assess career goals, and then to work with the student in determining a strategy for attaining those goals. Students are encouraged to enter into a partnership with the Center to maximize their prospects for obtaining internship or full-time employment opportunities.

20/20 Interviews

This program prepares students for one of the most vital aspects of their career management program, the job interview. Through a 20 minute video taped interview session consisting of behavioral and open-ended interview questions, the student becomes keenly aware of the strengths and weaknesses of their interview style. They are then guided through a visual and written critique of their interview by either a member of the Center’s staff or an experienced recruiter from the local business community. All students are encouraged to participate in a 20/20 interview at least once during the course of their MBA/EMBA program.

Career Resource Library

Contains a growing number of books, business journals, and professional magazines to assist students with their research on targeted companies, regions, or career management issues

Business Cards

Every MBA and EMBA is strongly advised to order Chapman University business cards upon entry into the program! The effective use of a business card is a key tool towards beginning and expanding a professional network, especially within the Orange County business community.

Coupled with their participation in ongoing career counseling sessions, students are strongly encouraged to take part in career management programs, services, and resources listed on the menu to the left. These are the first of many which will be located here to assist students with many facets of an effective career campaign.
