»Reunion Giving

Dear classmates:

Hard to believe it’s been 50 years since we graduated from Chapman College. I still think of classes with Bert Williams, Jim Utter, and Kurt Bergel, having coffee in the Student Union with Walter Bock, and backpacking in the High Sierras with Don Booth. With your assistance I’m sure I’ll remember a lot more when we get together for our 50th Reunion (May 22-25, 2014).

It’s been a tradition for the 50th reunion class to make a gift to the Chapman Scholarship Fund. Your reunion committee has decided our gift should honor of the memory or our classmates who are no longer with us. This scholarship fund will celebrate the legacy left by friends like Woody Dietch, Margaret (Swann) Harrison, Jeff Cotwright, Karen (Finley) Bailey, Raymond Duty, Linda (Irwin) Johnson, Bud Talbot, Marian (Wilkerson) Vertrees and many others. I can’t think of a better way to pay tribute to our friends than by creating opportunities for deserving students to grow and learn at our beloved alma mater.

The time we spent at Chapman College shaped our lives and gave us memories and friendships to last a lifetime. I hope you’ll celebrate this incredible journey by contributing to the Class of 1964 Memorial Scholarship and making plans to attend our 50th Reunion Weekend. Registration details will be mailed in early 2014 as part of our 1964 Class Reunion Newsletter.

“I will be the first in my family of six to graduate from college. The financial support I've received has helped open doors which wouldn't have otherwise been possible. I hope to become a consultant on environmental practices and to give back to the community in gratitude for the support I’ve received. It’s not just about me or about any one person. It’s about what we can do together.” –Angel Flores ’13
