Member-at-Large

Class: 1995, 1999
Degree: BA, MA
Major: English Literature, Organizational Leadership
Term Expires: 5/31/08

Melissa Schad Johnson ’95, ‘99 is a Software Instructor with Tax Compliance, and has been working in training and development in the financial services industry for the past 5 years. She received her BA in English Literature and her MA in Organizational Leadership, both at Chapman University’s Orange campus.

Melissa transferred as a junior and was a Resident Advisor during her time at Chapman. She served on Program Board, Community Council, Multicultural Advisory Committee, and served as president of Hillel. She worked in the Davis Fitness Center, and worked full time as a Resident Director while attending graduate school.

Chapman was such an important part of her life that upon moving back to the Southern California area, she applied for the Alumni Board. Immediately upon graduating, Melissa moved to Baltimore and then to San Francisco. One of the main reasons she wanted to become involved with the Alumni Association was to assist in promoting alumni chapters for alumni who leave the area.

Since joining the Board and reconnecting with staff, faculty and other alumni, Melissa has enjoyed her renewed connection with Chapman, and has been pleased to have the opportunity to improve offerings to other alumni.
