Robert Diaz earned his Chapman University B.S. degree in business administration, with a minor in political science. He was honored with the Cheverton Trophy and Founder’s Award at Chapman and became a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He received his law degree at the University of the Chicago Law School. Robert was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve in 2002. He was mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and served approximately twenty months overseas with the 1st Armored Division and United States Army in Germany. He holds the rank of Captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He is the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Robert was a corporate law associate in the Los Angeles office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP before coming back home to Orange County. He is now an attorney in the corporate department of the Orange County-based law firm of Hodel Briggs Winter LLP, with an emphasis on general corporate representation. He was named the Chapman Alumni Association’s 2007 Young Alumnus of the Year, chaired the Association’s career connections council, and is the current president-elect. He will become president of the Association on June 1, 2009. Robert married Rebecca Roach on October 13, 2007. The couple purchased a lovely home in the Floral Park neighborhood in Santa Ana in May of 2008. |
