Chapman University welcomes applications from students transferring in from either two-year or four-year colleges or universities for both the Fall and Spring semesters. However, unlike public colleges and universities, Chapman does not have single set of requirements that guarantees admission to all majors.
To check if the college-level coursework completed at other institutions may be eligible for transfer credit, view the Transfer Credit and Articulation Guidelines.
If you are a California community college student we recommend that you make an appointment with an advisor at your community college transfer center. With your advisor’s guidance, select courses that meet requirements for either the C.S.U. (California State University) full certification in general education or IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) full certification.
Although completion of the full certification is not necessarily an admission requirement for Chapman, it does allow transfer students who complete either the CSU or the IGETC prior to the start of classes at Chapman to waive the majority of the Chapman General Education curriculum.
If you will be transferring from an out of state two-year or four-year institution you should concentrate on Chapman’s General Education requirements, particularly the Shared Inquiry and Foreign Language areas which are outlined in our Transfer Brochure.
Transfer Fair Schedule
Transfer admission counselors are available at local community college fairs to meet and help you transfer to Chapman. Many college fairs have available advising appointments following the fair. Visit the transfer student college fair schedule for dates and times.
The Admission Office also meets one on one with prospective transfer students, before applying. While a meeting is not required, we do encourage transfer students that are able to get to Chapman's campus to consider meeting with one of our admission counselors so that we can assist you in an academic plan at your current school that will work in helping you transfer to Chapman.
These appointments can be scheduled by calling the Office of Admission at 714- 997-6711 or 888 CU APPLY.
