Admission and Prerequisites
Admission to the program may be achieved by completing the following requirements.
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. Students with a BA or BS degree with a major in any of the physical or biological sciences will generally have the necessary prerequisites in chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Students with an inadequate background will be required to take prerequisite subjects without credit toward their graduate degree. Prerequisite courses must be completed within the first year of enrollment.
- Have achieved the required admission grade point average as specified in the Admission section. Applicants with a grade point average between 2.5 and 2.99 are required to submit passing scores from the Graduate Record Examination. Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 550 on the Quantitative section and a score of 4.5 on the Analytical Writing section of the General Test or score at the 60th percentile on any one of the Graduate Subject Tests.
