Tutoring
The Center for Academic Success is dedicated to providing tutoring services in a wide range of subjects for any Chapman student interested in receiving help outside of class. Peer tutors are available in several general education subjects such as math and science, and higher level courses that pertain to the different areas of study we offer at Chapman. The quickest way to get tutoring is to take advantage of a peer tutor’s walk-in hours. There are many hours available in the courses with the most demand. Many of our tutors keep two walk-in hours a week, so that students have the option to drop in without an appointment. You can see a copy of the schedule by stopping by the office. If the course a student is interested in is not listed on the walk-in schedule, they can ask to fill out a “Request for Tutor” form. We will do our best to locate a willing and qualified peer tutor. If a qualified tutor is available, someone will then contact the student to set up an appointment and begin work as soon as possible. This one-on-one work enables the student to receive the personalized attention he/she needs. Tutors are not available in every subject and are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis. All of our tutors are Chapman students who have excelled in particular subjects and have been recommended by their professors. The tutoring program has been successful and at a steady high with rave reviews from the students. Tutoring services are absolutely FREE OF CHARGE to every Chapman student and can be obtained as easily as stopping by! If you are a Chapman student interested in receiving tutoring services or are interested in becoming a tutor, please contact us. |
